The real purpose of the interview
The adviser is not trying to trap you: they check the authenticity of your file, the coherence between your background and the programmes requested, the reality of your study project and, often, your career plans on returning to your home country.
Recurring themes
Some questions come up almost systematically, in different wordings.
- Why this country, this city and this particular institution?
- Why this programme, and how does it fit into your background?
- How will you finance your studies and your stay?
- What is your career plan once you have your degree?
- What is your level in the language of instruction?
Our coaching
We organise mock interviews in conditions close to the real thing, with immediate feedback on substance (coherence of the project) and form (delivery, posture, stress management). The goal is never to memorise answers, but to build a natural, well-argued discourse.
- Filmed mock interviews with debriefing
- Work on the arguments for your choice of programme and institution
- Presentation and posture tips for the big day
- Preparation for tricky questions on budget and returning home
